The study trip in Germany continues: Day 2

The Uruguayan delegation actively participated in the second day of the SoilCarbon4Climate conference, sharing national experiences and adding international learnings.

In the Break‑out Sessions (1) on Regulatory and Market‑based Instruments, Agustín de Prado Pieroni and Daniel Silveira (MGAP) presented the experience of Uruguay’s National Soil Conservation Policy, implemented through the Responsible Soil Use and Management Plans (PUMRS). Later, in the Break‑out Sessions (3) on Grassland and Pastures, Virginia Pravia (INIA) presented on soil carbon reserves in temperate grasslands of South America, a key but often overlooked reservoir, focusing on Uruguay’s situation.

It was another day of exchange with renowned international experts and stakeholders on soil health, carbon and climate policies.

From the Uruguayan‑German Dialogue on Agriculture (DAUA), we supported and facilitated the participation of the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP) and INIA Uruguay, strengthening Uruguay’s contribution to the international dialogue
